REFLECTION

I remember my childhood years, I often play with my playmates and imitate the scenario in a classroom and I often played the role of a teacher. My childhood reminds me of innocence having no idea of how difficult being a teacher. Several years passed, I see how hard to be a teacher seeing how my teachers in elementary and high school occupied their entire life by their profession. Perhaps, some don’t even have time to expend with their family. Some brought their unfinished works to their home because tomorrow, there’s a lot of thing that waits. Teachers are always pre-occupied.  That observation leads me to hesitancy if I will still want and dream of becoming a teacher someday. However, my parents’ decision prevails. They decided for me and I was leaved no choice but to abide.

In college, I already learned to embrace my craft. It was just November of last year when I have my practice teaching. It’s still fresh into my mind how exciting that day was. That was the time where I need to put in practice all the learnings and knowledge I have gained in our academe. An opportunity to render all the skills that I have yet being flexible to provide my pupils learning to the most enjoyable way.

Practice teaching is intended to meet the needs of prospective teachers in understanding the fundamentals of teaching- learning process, the problems of actual teaching and the processes of directing learning. My off-campus teaching honed me to become a good teacher perhaps. This provided me a firsthand experience in all aspects of teaching. It was in this, where I was challenged in knowing myself better, in understanding the nature and aspirations of my pupils and acquired the basic teaching skills in making a central analysis of the various problems related to teaching. Moreover, all the learning and experiences will really help me develop my competencies in teaching and I will treasure that.

Now, after all my endurance and determination, I am perhaps ready to face the new chapter of my chosen profession. I could say that I am a true blooded educator.
