ABOUT SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE
DECS Order No. 71 s. 1996 mandated the establishment of the School of the Future (SOF) as a special school established to be a center of excellence in the region that pioneers modern technology through computer assisted in multimedia intruction. It was inaugurated on April 20, 1997, by no less than, then Pres. Fidel V. Ramos. S.O.F started operation during School Year 1997-1998. It is situated along the premises of the Division Office of DepEd Cam. Sur at Freedom Sports Complex owned by Provincial Government of Camarines Sur.

A. ADMISSION
The School of the Future is open to any pupil who wishes to avail of its services provided that he/she meets the requirements and regulations set forth by the school and the Department of Education. However, the school has the right to refuse admission or re-admission of pupils under certain conditions.
I. Admission Requirements
A. New Pupils
1. Satisfactory mark in the entrance exam and interview.
2. Certificate of good moral character.
3. Submission of the following:
-Report card (Form138)
-Birth Certificate
B. Transferees
1. Satisfactory mark in the entrance exam and interview.
2. Certificate of good moral character.
3. Report card (Form138)
C. Old Pupils
1. Report card (Form138) of the preceding year.
II. Admission policies for Special Cases
A. For transferees, they can only be admitted if there are vacant slots for the grade level left behind by former pupils who transferred out during the year of pupils who did not enrol for the current school year.
B. No transferee will be admitted if they have a failing grade in any subject.
C. A pupil who transferred to another school and wants to come back will be treated as a new pupil.
D. Only the principal and the adviser concerned can officially admit a transferee.
III. A pupil shall be refused re-admission for the next school year for the following reasons:
A. A pupil who was given any of the following disciplinary sanctions in the previous year:
1. Special Disciplinary Probation
2. Withdrawal from the school
3. Dismissal B. Very poor grades
IV. Enrolment Procedure
A. Present the report card, certificate of BrigadaEskwela and the certificate of Good moral Character (if a transferee) to the concerned adviser.
B. Go to the Gen PTA treasurer for voluntary payment of PTA Quota.
V. Finances
A. All money collections or payments should at all times have the sanctions of the principal. In case of doubt, parents should check with the principal first. Not to anyone who is not concerned with school policies.
B. Monetary obligations per grade level should at all times be asked of the parents in every homeroom meeting for approval of the majority.
ACADEMIC REGULATIONS
Curriculum
The School of the Future follows the K-12 Basic Education Curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education.
Attendance
-
A pupil who is absent from class is responsible for the subject matter taken up during his/her absence.
-
After the absence, the pupil should present a letter signed by the parent/guardian stating the reason for his/her absence.
-
If a pupil fails to present an excuse letter, he/she is not excuse for missed assignments and quizzes.
-
The maximum number a pupil may get absent from class is 20 days only. He/she will be dropped from the list of enrolees if he/she exceeds this number.
-
Cutting class is considered an absence.
Punctuality
1. A pupil is considered tardy if he/she arrives 15 minutes after the approved schedule for the start of class in the morning and the afternoon.
2. Perennial tardiness may be subjected to absences.
NON-ACADEMIC REGULATIONS
School Uniform
1. The school uniform is a symbol of the school of the Future family. Wear it with pride, honor and dignity.
2. Complete uniform for girls includes the prescribed cream blouse, checkered knee length brown skirt, necktie with the school’s logo, plain white socks and black shoes. For the boys, prescribed cream polo, chocolate brown shorts/pants, white socks and black shoes.
3. Simplicity is encouraged.
4. Pupils who come to school on Saturdays or wash day which is every Friday, should come in decent simple attire.
5. High-heeled shoes for girls are not allowed.
Student Affairs
The various clubs and organizations of the school are geared toward the holistic development of the pupil. Their skills, talent and knowledge in the different fields of learning will be utilized to be physically and mentally alert, socially and psychologically mature and spiritually and emotionally strong individuals.
RULES OF CONDUCT
A. Flag Ceremony
It is held at 7:30 AM every morning. It consist of the following: physical fitness exercise, morning prayer, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance and Bicol March. Important announcements shall be part of the ceremony.
On rainy days, flag ceremony shall be held inside the classroom by every grade level.
B. Flag Retreat
It is held at 4:45 PM every afternoon. It consists of the following: afternoon prayer, National Anthem and Ang Bayan Ko.
C. Use of Care of School Properties and Facilities
1. I f a pupil breaks or damages school property, he/she reports it to the adviser concerned who will inform the principal. He/she may be asked to pay or repair the damaged item or property.
2. Pupils, parents and visitors should refrain from standing on benches and sitting on tables of corridors and parks.
3. All pupils are responsible for keeping their classroom neat and orderly at all times. They are expected to observe the following rules:
- Litters are segregated and thrown into the corresponding garbage can.
- Empty bottles are returned to the canteen.
- Cleaning materials are kept in the broom box after use.
- Chairs are properly arranged.
- Pieces of chalk are kept in the chalk box.
- Lights, electric fans, radio/television are switched off, faucets are closed, doors and windows are locked before leaving the classroom.
- All other materials used inside the classroom are properly returned in its place.
4. Important announcements and notices are posted on the school’s bulletin board. It is the duty of every pupil/parent/guardian to read these notices.
